
Are you interested in getting fit, improving your dancing, and learning how to stay safe? If so, the art of Brazilian Jujitsu is perfect for you! The class focuses on the self-defense aspects of Brazilian Jiujitsu;i.e. on how to escape from dangerous situations. They will also highlight the similarities between dancing and Brazilian Jiujitsu. Each field requires the participants to effortlessly use the other person’s energy with or against them, and helps to develop great kinesthetic awareness;in other words, the art is great for dancers! Each class begins with a warm-up which also teaches the fundamental techniques of the art. It then moves on to standing techniques, and then techniques on the ground. In this way, each class is structured so you know what to expect, but still offers something fresh and exciting as we learn different ways to solve problems and move our bodies. The classes are taught in a fun and positive manner, with the goal being that everybody learns and has an enjoyable time. The space is positive and the learning is fun!
