Jen Daudlin Jen has been involved in music and sports since a very young age and is a classically trained violinist and an accomplished competitive swimmer. While her love for all music was evident at the tender age of two when she began begging her parents for a violin, she avoided dancing like the plague, fearing the spotlight, and dreading looking like a fool in front of others. Dance was for girly girls, not for tom-boys like her. After all, she had a rep to maintain. About two years ago, when injuries forced her to retire from the pool, she resolved to try two things completely foreign to her:the first being something she always wanted to try, so she joined the nearest boxing gym;and the second, something she had never wanted to try:dance, so she enrolled in a local ballroom and latin dance school. She took to dance like a fish to water and soon made the decision to compete. While preparing for her first competition, her coach suggested she enter the salsa competition as a warm-up to the ballroom rounds. It is an understatement to say that the music moved her, and she has never looked back. Jen continues to compete in ballroom and latin competitions, but salsa and the other “club latin dances” are reserved to be danced for the pure love and joy of it.
